Public Protection Mobile Unit Coming to St. Tammany Parish

Consumer Information Available for Citizens

            Parish President Kevin Davis received confirmation today from Louisiana Attorney Charles Foti that the state’s Public Protection Mobile Assistance Unit will be in St. Tammany to assist citizens with consumer complaints, such as price gouging, and profiteering.  The LA State Licensing Board for Contractors will also be available to answer citizens’ questions about hiring contractors for home repair.

The St. Tammany schedule is:

Covington:
Saturday, October 22   10:00 AM to 3:00 PM   Wal-Mart parking lot, 880 N. Highway 190

Mandeville:
Friday, October 28       10:00 AM to 3:00 PM    La Madeleine parking lot, Highway 190

Slidell:
Saturday, October 29   10:00 AM to 3:00 PM   Home Depot parking lot, North Shore Blvd.

            “It is important to remember that will be living with the home rebuilding decisions that we make today for the next twenty years.  We need to use licensed, insured contractors to safeguard our homes and families,” said Davis.  “We also need to support the responsible businesses who will continue to be a part of our community for many years.”
