Temporary Satellite Permit Offices Update

            St. Tammany Parish will close the temporary satellite offices located in Folsom and at the CPB parking lot on Highway 190 in Slidell, as of 4:30 PM today.  “These centers appear to have met the immediate needs of citizens in these areas,” said Denise Jobe, Director of Permits for St. Tammany Parish.  “The number of citizens using these two offices has slowed considerably.  Consolidation will allow us to move personnel to other needed tasks.”

            Temporary satellite permit offices will continue to operate at the following locations:

• John Davis Park, Lacombe

• Spartan Dr. Soccer Fields, Slidell

• Levee Bldg, N. Military Rd., Slidell

• Hickory Barn

• Lee Rd., north of Lee Rd. Jr. High School

            Post-Katrina, the St. Tammany Department of Permits & Regulatory has issued over 4,000 electrical permits at no charge and performed over 700 electrical inspections at no charge.  400 of 600 building permits issued have also been at no charge.

            “We want to assist citizens and businesses in rebuilding St. Tammany,” said Parish President Kevin Davis.  “Therefore, we are waiving fees where possible.  In cases of substantial damage, however, citizens and businesses must go through our regular permitting process for public safety reasons.”
