Permit Office Updates
Satellite Offices Close; State Fire Marshall on Board

The temporary St. Tammany Parish satellite permit offices at John Davis Park in Lacombe and on Spartan Drive in Slidell will close Friday, November, 4th.  Use of these sites has dropped significantly in the past two weeks.

“The satellite offices were opened after Hurricane Katrina to expedite the permitting process,” said Parish President Kevin Davis.  “They worked.  Over 5,000 permits have been issued by the department since Katrina. Without the satellite offices, citizens would have had long waits to simply have their power reconnected, especially with the Towers Building being closed.”

On Monday, October 31st, the Department of Permits & Regulatory temporary office in the Levee Building, located at 61134 Military Road, just north of Brownswitch Rd., east of Slidell, became a fully functioning permit office.  The office is staffed with permit department personnel able to assist citizens will every type of parish permit.

In addition, the State Fire Marshall has a plan reviewer stationed at the Military Rd. Permit Office for commercial plan review.  He is in the office Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00 AM. Contractors are now able to go this office in Slidell, instead of Baton Rouge, for commercial plan review.
