PARISH MAPS AVAILABLE ONLINE

            Detailed maps of selected areas of St. Tammany Parish are now available online.

            In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Global MapAid, Inc., of Santa Clara, CA, and Bath, U.K., created the maps to assist in the disbursement of aid resources throughout the parish. Because Global MapAid personnel were already working in western St. Tammany, the most detailed maps are available for that area. Other mapping is also online for the Slidell area.

            The maps are posted on Global MapAid’s site, www.globalmapaid.rdvp.org, and are accessible to any interested citizens.

            “This technology was of vital importance in the distribution of aid and supplies immediately following Katrina,” Parish President Kevin Davis said. “We’re pleased that MapAid executives want to make the data available to our citizens.”
