ST. TAMMANY PARISH GOVERNMENT & TAMMANY TRACE FOUNDATION PRESENT THE 6TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY OF LIGHTS. Tammany Trace Trailhead Caboose, 21490 Koop Dr., Mandeville. Friday & Saturday, Dec 9 & 10. Area school choirs, musicians, violinists, and carolers will serenade visitors while Santa and carnival style rides entertain the children. Lights will remain on until Dec. 30, 5pm-8pm nightly. Free. CITY OF MANDEVILLE’S WINTER ON THE WATER. Sponsored by Cleco and presented by the City of Mandeville and the Old Mandeville Business Association.

            Saturday, December 10, the Mandeville Trailhead will host "A Dickens’s Christmas." Beginning at 9am - Strolling characters and vendors in Victorian attire, Christmas caroling, bike ride on the Trace with Father Christmas at 10am, 11am cookie decorating. Various activities will be hosted at old Mandeville Businesses. At 11am "The Empty Bowl Project" will begin at the Trailhead.             Sunday, December 11, beginning at 4pm - annual Christmas Parade on East Causeway Approach from the Mandeville Square Shopping Center turning around just before Monroe St. back to City Hall. At City Hall, Santa will be in the gazebo hearing Christmas wishes. At 5pm Mayor Price will switch on the lights in the trees at City Hall with performances by Sandy Cash and Mandeville Elementary School, and "Cajun Christmas Tales” will be told by Captain Jacques Pierre. GREATER NEW ORLEANS YOUTH ORCHESTRA (GNOYO) CONCERT. Greater Covington Center, Bogue Falaya Hall, 317 N. Jefferson Ave. Students ages 8-19 will perform works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Grieg and more. December 11, 2pm. Admission: Adults: $12, Students: $6, Age 5 & Under: Free. COVINGTON FARMERS MARKET. Side lawn, Covington City Hall, 609 N. Columbia St. Rain or shine. 9am-1pm. The Farmers Market will distribute donated seeds and vegetable flats to farmers, in collaboration with the Community Food Security Coalition, and the Bring It On Home benefit concert, in recognition of damages due to Hurricane Katrina. Farmers Market staff and vendors will prepare various Christmas specialties, with recipes, beginning at 10am. Music to be announced, beginning at 9:30am. Call 892-1873.
