ST. TAMMANY ART ASSOCIATION PRESENTS STARRY STARRY NIGHT. 320 N. Columbia St., Covington. December 31, 8pm. Fifty local artists have decorated or painted nine inch, three dimensional papier mache stars. The stars will then be sold by silent auction to the highest bidders. A limited number of tickets are available. Tickets $50. Call 892-8650.

LOOKING FOR ARTISTS…

CALLING ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE A PASSION FOR THE ARTS! Creative Writing, Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre Arts, Visual Arts. High school students who are interested in auditioning for the NOCCA|Riverfront first intensive instructional semester (January 9-May 12) are asked to bring an application including a copy of their most recent report card or transcript to T.H. Harris Middle, 911 Elise Avenue, in Metairie on January 7, 10 a.m. where auditions will take place in all disciplines: creative writing, dance, media arts, jazz, vocal, drama, musical theatre, theatre design and visual arts. NOCCA|Riverfront faculty will audition walk-in applicants on-site. Applications are available via the website, www.nocca.com or can be filled out while waiting for the audition. Instruction (January 9-May 12) will be taking place at satellite sites in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes during the school day, after school and on Saturdays. NOCCA|Riverfront encourages all interested students and parents to monitor www.nocca.com for exact details and to download applications.

SLIDELL ART LEAGUE “CALL TO ARTISTS” FOR ALL MEMBERS TO RETURN!!  The Gallery and Gift Shop are OPEN Friday 9-2pm, Saturday 10-2 pm, & Sunday 12-3 pm. “Christmas in the Depot” is currently running sales have been “brisk”. We need you! Call or stop by the depot to update your contact information, and renew your membership. Classes scheduled to begin in January, and an exciting new show for members only. AUDITIONS…

PLAYMAKERS THEATRE is holding Auditions for The Foreigner, a comedy by Larry Shue, directed by Kay Files, will be held at Playmakers Theater on Jan. 23 and 24 at 7:30. Rehearsals will begin the following week. The play opens March 10, and runs for 3 weekends. Needed are 2 women (ages 25-50) and 7 men (ages 17-60).
