MUSIC AND DANCE…

LEGACY MUSIC PRESENTS THE ARTIST COLLECTION CONCERT. The First Baptist Church R.O.C., Covington. Friday, January 27 at 7pm. Featuring Krystal Lupo, Jeremy Miller, Kristy Deglandon, Chris West & Kambri Williams with the Legacy Band. Tickets / $5 available at Simple Goodness or from Legacy Music. NORTHSHORE CAJUN DANCE. Abita Springs Town Hall, Level Street. Saturday, January, 21st. All dances are 8pm-11pm with free dance lessons from 7pm-7:30pm.  This month Bruce Daigrepont will perform. VISUAL ARTS…           

ST. TAMMANY ART ASSOCIATION PRESENTS FLAGS AND FIBERS.  320 N. Columbia St., Covington. Exhibit through January 28.  Sequined pictorials from the artists of Haiti will be on display and for sale. This is the latest exhibition of these unique works of art in the metro area since the 1996 Jazz & Heritage Festival hosted the Haitian Pavilion. FT. ISABEL GALLERY PRESENTS "I AM REVERSIBLE".  Exhibit featuring new mixed media creations by Delaina Leblanc. 502 N. Columbia St., Covington. LeBlanc's current works examines man's association with Louisiana's disappearing coast. A portion of her proceeds will be donated to the Barataria Terrebonne National Estuary Program. Free. CITY OF MANDEVILLE: JANUARY ARTIST OF THE MONTH. Mandeville City Hall. 3101 E. Causeway Approach, Mandeville. Mandeville resident Peg Usner exhibits her multimedia Katrina collages and local landscapes in acrylic. THEATRE…

SLIDELL LITTLE THEATRE PRESENTS DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Slidell Little Theatre, 2024 Nellie Dr., Slidell. Slidell Little Theatre continues the 2005-2006 Season with Disney's “Beauty and the Beast” (Show run in August was interrupted by Katrina). Join them as they come together again with this tale as old as time. PLAYMAKERS THEATRE PRESENTS THE BARN, A TRIBUTE TO 50 YEARS AT PLAYMAKERS.  19106 Playmakers Rd. Covington. Performances Thursday, Jan 19, 8pm and Jan, 20, 21, 26, 27 & 28. Matinee performances are Sunday, Jan 22 & 29 at 2pm. . The 2006 season opens with a cast of Playmakers favorite actors and artists.  The "tribute" features selected scenes from 20 past plays including A Streetcar Named Desire, A Man for All Seasons, The Lion in Winter, The Sunshine Boys, The Sound of Music, Stalag 17, Follies, Beauty and the Beast, No Time for Sergeants, all performed by many of the same actors who won awards performing the original roles from as long ago as 1957. LIBRARY PROJECTS & EVENTS…

ST. TAMMANY PARISH LIBRARY: "THE LIBRARY HAS GONE TO THE DOGS". Causeway branch, Mandeville. Saturday, January 21. Children will "Read to Rover", a program that allows children to practice reading out loud to a four legged friend. The goal of the program is to help children build confidence in reading out loud in a fun and safe environment.  Only one dog “Sammie” will be featured therefore registration is required. STORYTIME SCHEDULE AT THE ST. TAMMANY PARISH LIBRARY. Storytime at the St. Tammany Parish Libraries introduces the child to the best in children's literature. LOUISIANA PERCENT FOR ART PROGRAM CALL FOR ARTISTS…

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks an artist or artist team to create a site-specific “Gateway Sculpture” for the downtown Baton Rouge Market Square located at the Galvez Parking Garage. NPAS INVITES NEW SINGERS TO JOIN. Here’s your chance to be part of a fun and exciting group whose main objective is to bring enjoyable music and the cultural arts to the community at large. PLAYMAKERS THEATRE IS HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR THE FOREIGNER, a comedy by Larry Shue, directed by Kay Files, will be held at Playmakers Theater on Jan. 23 and 24 at 7:30.
