THE LOUISIANA DIVISION OF
THE ARTS ANNOUNCES
ANNUAL ARTS FUNDING WORKSHOPS
BATON ROUGE, La. - $1.2 million in grants will soon be available to Louisiana's arts community, and workshops to assist grant seekers in the application process are scheduled for February and March.
The “How to Navigate the Application Roadmap” workshops will be led by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, which oversees and distributes state and federal grant funding. The workshops and grant applications are open to visual artists, craftsmen, musicians, creative writers, designers, theater and dance professionals in addition to nonprofit/governmental entities whose mission is to provide arts programming to the public. Grants are also available for the development of arts education programs in schools.
"The workshops will walk applicants through new grants programs and the application process step-by-step," Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu said. The Division of the Arts is a unit in the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, which is overseen by Landrieu's office.
"There will be opportunities to meet with Division of the Arts staff one-on-one and network with other arts community members seeking grants," Landrieu said.
All workshops and sessions are free. Guidelines and application forms are available on the Division of the Arts website at www.crt.state.la.us/arts. For more information, contact the Louisiana Division of the Arts, P. O. Box 44247, Baton Rouge, LA 70804-4247, or call (225) 342-8180.
