NEW ‘NORTHSHORE NEWS’ TO BEGIN AIRING TONIGHT
 

            The 17th edition of Access St. Tammany’s informational program about hurricane recovery, “Northshore News,” will begin airing at 10 p.m. Friday night.

            The program, launched at the behest of Parish President Kevin Davis following Hurricane Katrina, focuses on the broad spectrum of issues involved in recovery. Guests in this edition include state Senator Ben Nevers, state Representative Mike Strain, and Parish Councilman Marty Dean.

            Previous subjects have included state Treasurer John Kennedy, Senators Tom Schedler, Julie Quinn and Walter Boasso; state Representatives Diane Winston, Pete Schneider, A.G. Crowe and Tim Burns; Sheriff Jack Strain; Assessor Patricia Core; Mayors Louis Fitzmorris, Candace Watkins, Ben Morris, Eddie Price and James Lavigne; leaders of local churches and non-profit organizations, including Safe Harbor battered women’s shelter, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and the United Way; Chamber of Commerce leaders from both East and West St. Tammany; local heroes who responded to the storm, and survivors who weathered Katrina in their homes. 

            “Northshore News” airs daily on Charter Channel 10 at 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. It can also be viewed on the Parish Government website, www.stpgov.org.
