Citizens May Vote Early at New Location
St. Tammany Parish government has relocated a number of offices from the Towers Building in Slidell to the Levee Building because of Hurricane Katrina damage. Among those relocated offices is the Registrar of Voters office. Parish President Kevin Davis said “I would like to remind citizens who wish to vote early in the Slidell area that they should vote at the Levee Building, not at the Towers Building location.”
The Levee Building is located at 61134 Hwy 1090 (Military Road), north of Brownswitch Road. The building is located on the east side of the road.
City of Slidell voters will elect the office of Mayor, Council Districts A, B, C, D, and F. Some precinct locations in the city of Slidell have been damaged and moved to new locations. A complete Parish Poll List may be found at http://www.stprov.org/all_polls.html. The primary will be held April 1, 2006, with the runoff being held April 29, 2006.
Early voting begins Monday March 20th and continues through March 25th. Weekday hours are from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. On Saturday the 25th, the hours are from 8:30 A.M to 12:00 Noon.
Early voting will also be conducted at the Registrar of Voters office at 701 N. Columbia St. (Justice Center), in Covington.
