PARISH SEEKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION INFO

In the event of another catastrophic storm such as those experienced in summer 2005, Parish leaders want to be able to communicate quickly and effectively with residents through a variety of means.  To this end, officials are asking local homeowners associations to contact Parish Government with updated information about their officers.

Information being sought includes the names, addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers of homeowners’ association presidents, in addition to their emergency contact information in the event they should evacuate for an extended period.

“One of the things we learned after Katrina was that traditional means of reaching the public aren’t always reliable,” Parish President Kevin Davis said.  “While we’ve taken steps to ensure we remain linked with local and regional media, being able to communicate directly with neighborhood leaders will help us keep abreast of changing needs at a very local level. Having this information will also allow us to relay important information to our citizens.”

St. Tammany Parish homeowners associations are asked to email information to dschenck@stpgov.org or fax to 898-2798.
