CITY OF MANDEVILLE: AUGUST ARTIST OF THE MONTH. 3101 E. Causeway Approach, Mandeville. Featuring the photographs of Lacombe artist Dorothy Maloney. On display will be her enhanced photos of nature, landscapes, abstracts and bugs. NORTH SHORE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISTS ANNOUNCE THE "ARTIST OF THE MONTH" for August is Karla Cole of Folsom. Her brightly-colored oil paintings, which are inspired by flowers, touch viewers with their simplicity and exuberance. Governor and the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and the Louisiana Division of the Arts announces the Call for Nominations for the 2006 Governor's Arts Awards. The deadline to submit a nomination is Wednesday, September 6, 2006. Governor's Arts Awards will be made in the following categories: Arts Education (Organization); Arts Education (Individual); Arts Organization (Small); Arts Organization (Large); Business/Corporate Support (Small); Business/Corporate Support (Large); Folk Artist; Lifetime Achievement; Patron; Professional Artist; and Leadership in the Arts (Previously Promotion of the Arts).
