We are particularly interested in papers and presentations that deal with carnival, in its many manifestations, across the state, nation, and in global contexts. ST. TAMMANY ART ASSOCIATION IS SENDING OUT A CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR THE ST. TAMMANY NATIONAL ONE-ACT PLAY FESTIVAL, IN HONOR OF WALKER PERCY: The festival will be held January 12-13, 2007 at the Greater Covington Center. Four one-acts will be chosen to be presented as rehearsed readings during the two-day festival. Each of the winning playwrights will receive a $100 prize and an opportunity to see their work presented to the public with a critique by a panel of theatre professionals. MANDEVILLE CITIZENS URGED TO “SHOW AND TELL”: If you have some interesting stories, letters, photos, films or artifacts relating to the rich 170-year history of Mandeville, the City has an offer for you. A recently announced “Art for Artifact” program will give a limited edition color reproduction of a 1920’s era poster promoting the City to anyone providing useful historical information that can be used in the Cultural and Interpretive Center planned at the Trailhead in Old Mandeville.
