St. Tammany Parish Council Chairman, Steve Stefancik, has called a special meeting of the parish council to be held on Thursday, October 12, 2006, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 21490 Koop Drive, Mandeville.  The purpose of the special meeting is to temporarily appoint a person to fill the vacancy in office resulting from the resignation of Councilman Joe Impastato on Friday, as required by the parish home rule charter, and to call a special election in Parish Council District 7 in the Spring, to elect a successor who will serve the remainder of Mr. Impastato’s term of office which expires December 31, 2007.  

Persons wishing to submit their names for consideration of appointment by the Parish Council may do so through the Parish Council Office.
