The Louisiana Folklore Society is seeking papers that deal with the emergence of community, carnival, and expressive culture in Louisiana in the re-building of the region. We are particularly interested in papers and presentations that deal with carnival, in its many manifestations, across the state, nation, and in global contexts. STAA CALL FOR ART: On Saturday, December 2, the St. Tammany Art Association will host Starry, Starry Night Art Auction and Patron Party. MANDEVILLE CITIZENS URGED TO “SHOW AND TELL”: If you have some interesting stories, letters, photos, films or artifacts relating to the rich 170-year history of Mandeville, the City has an offer for you. A recently announced “Art for Artifact” program will give a limited edition color reproduction of a 1920’s era poster promoting the City to anyone providing useful historical information that can be used in the Cultural and Interpretive Center planned at the Trailhead in Old Mandeville.
