LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY, BATON ROUGE ANNOUNCES CALL FOR PAPERS:  Louisiana Folklore Society Meeting, March 9-10, 2007. "Community, Culture, and Carnival: Emerging and Lasting Traditions". The Louisiana Folklore Society is seeking papers that deal with the emergence of community, carnival, and expressive culture in Louisiana in the re-building of the region. We are particularly interested in papers and presentations that deal with carnival, in its many manifestations, across the state, nation, and in global contexts. LOOKING FOR ARTISTS… 

STAA CALL FOR ART:  On Saturday, December 2, the St. Tammany Art Association will host Starry, Starry Night Art Auction and Patron Party.  Area artists are invited to decorate and adorn 12” paper mache stars for the holiday season.  Star forms are now available for pick-up at the Art Association during regular open hours, 10am-4pm Monday thru Friday.  The stars will be available at auction to the ticketed event.  Call 985-892-8650 or visit www.sttammanyart.org.   

MANDEVILLE CITIZENS URGED TO “SHOW AND TELL”: If you have some interesting stories, letters, photos, films or artifacts relating to the rich 170-year history of Mandeville, the City has an offer for you.  A recently announced “Art for Artifact” program will give a limited edition color reproduction of a 1920’s era poster promoting the City to anyone providing useful historical information that can be used in the Cultural and Interpretive Center planned at the Trailhead in Old Mandeville. ST. TAMMANY ART ASSOCIATION PRESENTS ART OF ASIA:  An 8-hour art history survey led by Roberta Bruck, Ph.D., J.
